This is number 5 in my 20 random posts. As a side note, since I skipped number 4 (how you met your spouse/significant other), I'm going to make up another one towards the end so there are actually 20 of these posts, instead of 19. Also, I found another list like this for 30 things to blog about over the course of a month, so I'm really excited to do that once I finish up this series!
Five Random Things That Make Me Happy :D
1. Getting letters from my Compassion sponsor children. I appreciate how it says "message from your sponsor child" right on the outside of the envelope so you don't have to guess and then be disappointed when it's actually a bill or something else.
2. When my hair actually kind of curls. I have a lot of curl, but when I brush my hair it just poofs most of the time. :)
3. Getting a test out of the way. Hopefully I get a good grade, but the more important thing is that it's over and done with. :)
4. Weddings. I'm such a sop when it comes to romance, so weddings definitely make me happy.
5. Finding a really good quote that makes me think and inspires me.

20 random posts : : 20 random things about me
Awhile back, during my time at Glorieta, I found a list of 20 things to blog about, and I thought it'd be fun to do! Here's the first one.
20 Random Things about Myself
1. I am a very picky eater. I don't like cheese, eggs, bananas, alfredo sauce, jam, tuna, or tomatoes. I could probably think of more, but I'll leave it at that.
3. I'm not satisfied with anything less than straight A's.
4. I sponsor two children through Compassion International, Djamsel and Majoie, and have one correspondence child, Cristian.
5. One of my favorite movie series is Ice Age.
6. I'd like to get married in the Glorieta prayer garden. :)
7.19 is my favorite number, which is awesome, 'cause I'm turning 19 on the 24th!
8. My favorites authors include Elisabeth Elliot, Randy Alcorn, Amy Carmichael, Josh Harris, and C. S. Lewis.
9. My goal in life is to serve as a missionary in India, preferably working with children at an orphanage or school.
10. I really enjoy writing songs. Over the past 4ish years, I've written about 60.
11. My favorite flowers are carnations, tulips, and poppies
12. I'm technically 5 feet, 7 3/4 inches, but I just say 5'8 because that's so much easier!
13. One of my favorite worship songs is "I Will Praise Him Still".
14. I have a beta fish named Titus, a lab named Sal, and a cat named Hilda.
15. I've never had my own room. (didn't have a pic for this one!)
16. I love origami figures. I used to be able to do some, and I really want to learn again!
17. I really enjoy touring art galleries, especially if they're free (Santa Fe is awesome for this!).
18. I've always wanted a pet turtle. :)
19. I've never broken a bone.
20. My favorite chapstick is peach mango.

highlights
I wanted to make a kind of random post today about fun stuff that's happened. For starters, my aunt and uncle came to visit today. They came to church, and then over for lunch. It was so great to see them!
This is my aunt's wedding ring. I took this picture at my cousin's wedding last September. I just really like it.
I also got a rose today! At our Walmart, if you donate your change to breast cancer awareness you get a free rose. Isn't it lovely?
Check out this website. It's a 24/7 stream of piano and rain together. I think it's so relaxing.
Funny moment with Chloe today: My mom got a new phone, and on it is an app that you can talk to. You ask questions, she answers, etc. Her name is Siri. So today Chloe was talking to her (she loves to just have conversations with the phone) and after a while she said, in her sincerest tone, "Siri, you're one of my bestest friends. Not just because you're nice, but because your heart is working and beating fast." Then she started singing a song completely in gibberish to try and see if the phone could keep up."

7 things about me...
I got these awards from Rose! I've never gotten any blog rewards before, so this is quite exciting. :)
Wow, that was easier than I thought! Enjoy!
What I have to do is say 7 things about myself and then pass it on to 15 bloggers, if I can think of that many... :)
1. I keep changing majors (from dental hygiene to nursing to education...), but now that I've decided on elementary education I really think it'll stick. I think I'd love to teach.
2. I love getting surprises. I like giving surprises (my favorite thing to surprise girls with is roses; they always seem to live up to my expectations in their excitement over them), too, but it can be kind of disappointing when the person doesn't respond like you hoped they would. Anyway, I love any sort of surprise whatsoever. :)
3. I write lots and lots of songs. I've probably written 50 or 60 by now, though they're not all good by any means.
4. Someday I want to go see a Broadway play. I adore plays of all sorts.
5. I love kids, and I want to take care of as many as I can someday by working at an orphanage, and, Lord willing, starting an orphanage myself someday.
6. Hymns are my favorite songs.
7. I really like school. It's just so much fun to learn stuff.
OK, so now I award 15 people, who in turn post these awards on their blogs, write 7 things about themselves, and award 15 more bloggers they like. You don't have to do it if you don't want to, but it could be fun. If I tag you it's because I love your blog (and I probably wish you'd post more often)! Enjoy!

changing leaves
Today my family and I went to the mountains! There are a ton of pictures that I want to post, so I'm not going to put them in the largest size like I usually do. However, if you click on them you come to a sort of slideshow thing that makes them bigger. Enjoy!

We were pretending to fight over the bouquet...
