about me

~ a wretched sinner saved by grace (1 Tim. 1:15).
~ a twenty-year-old
~ an optimist.  Pollyanistic, to be exact.
~ 5'8.
~ a hater of cheese, bananas, and eggs.  Lover of pizza.
~ a lover of love.
~ a Bible memorizer.  I believe there's great power in having the Word right there in your mind, readily available for the times that you need it.
~ an ISFJ.
~ oldest of four girls: Rachel (my twin), Ellie, and Chloe.
~ daughter of a pastor.

After two years at CNM, I am attending NMSU.  This year I'm a junior.  I'm pursuing a degree in special education with dual credit in elementary education, and a concentration in math.  I'd love to teach middle school math, but obviously I'm also open to teaching special ed at any age.

This semester (Spring 2014) I'm taking:
Calculus 1 + Lab
Integrating Technology with Teaching
Sci Fi/Fantasy English
Fundamentals of Elemenatary Mathematics III
Classroom Management for Diverse Learners
Introduction to Assessment of Diverse Exceptional Learners
(those last two are both special ed classes)

From what I've observed, it seems like married bloggers and those with children are always going to have more followers.  I'm here to prove that wrong!

Haha, not.  I blog because I love blogging.  That's really all there is to it.  I love being able to share what's going on in my life with my friends and family.  I love sharing funny stories, what God's been doing in my life lately, etc.  I love talking about my turtle, Jonah, and what my classes are like and how I've been trying to cook more.

Why do I blog?  I blog to honor Christ.  Sometimes, when I get discouraged by low numbers of followers and page views, or I start thinking about how I can attract more people to this little corner of the web, I get distracted from what I created this blog to be in the first place--a way to document my life and to reach out to people in a way that honors that Lord.  This is my way of remembering what the Lord has done in my life.  Continuously, constantly faithful.

If you choose to pass on by, I understand!  But if you do decide to join me here at Press On to Know, I'd love it if you left a comment or sent me an email so you can make your presence known!  May God be glorified in all that is done here.

I came to Jesus as I was,
Weary and worn and sad;
I found in Him a resting place,
And He has made me glad.
