Times Go By Turns
The lopped tree in time may grow again;
Most naked plants renew both fruit and flower;
The sorriest wight may find release of pain,
The driest soil suck in some moistening shower;
Times go by turns and chances change by course,
From foul to fair, from better hap to worse.
The sea of fortune doth not ever flow,
She draws her favors to the lowest ebb;
Her tide hath equal times to come and go,
Her loom doth weave the fine and coarsest web;
No joy so great but runneth to an end,
No hap so hard but may in time amend.
Not always fall of leaf nor every spring,
No endless night yet not eternal day;
The saddest birds a season find to sing,
The roughest storm a calm may soon allay;
Thus with succeeding turns God tempereth all,
That man may hope to rise yet fear to fall.
A chance may win that by mischance was lost;
The net that holds no great, takes little fish;
In some things all, in all things none are crossed,
Few all they need, but none have all they wish;
Unmeddled joys here to no man befall,
Who least hath some, who most hath never all.

7 things about me...
I got these awards from Rose! I've never gotten any blog rewards before, so this is quite exciting. :)
Wow, that was easier than I thought! Enjoy!
What I have to do is say 7 things about myself and then pass it on to 15 bloggers, if I can think of that many... :)
1. I keep changing majors (from dental hygiene to nursing to education...), but now that I've decided on elementary education I really think it'll stick. I think I'd love to teach.
2. I love getting surprises. I like giving surprises (my favorite thing to surprise girls with is roses; they always seem to live up to my expectations in their excitement over them), too, but it can be kind of disappointing when the person doesn't respond like you hoped they would. Anyway, I love any sort of surprise whatsoever. :)
3. I write lots and lots of songs. I've probably written 50 or 60 by now, though they're not all good by any means.
4. Someday I want to go see a Broadway play. I adore plays of all sorts.
5. I love kids, and I want to take care of as many as I can someday by working at an orphanage, and, Lord willing, starting an orphanage myself someday.
6. Hymns are my favorite songs.
7. I really like school. It's just so much fun to learn stuff.
OK, so now I award 15 people, who in turn post these awards on their blogs, write 7 things about themselves, and award 15 more bloggers they like. You don't have to do it if you don't want to, but it could be fun. If I tag you it's because I love your blog (and I probably wish you'd post more often)! Enjoy!

Hey everybody!
I wanted to just give a little update about what's been happening with me lately. I can't believe it's already November 16th!
Yesterday I signed up for the classes I'll be taking in the spring. So far my schedule is Math for Teachers, Sociology, Western Civilization, Spanish, and maybe Philosophy or Theatre. I'm really excited about it!
I've hardly been working at all lately because it's just so slow, I've been sent home early almost every day for the past two weeks. It's alright, though. Hopefully it'll pick up again soon.
It's almost Christmas! I'm so excited. I love Christmas! I'm excited about Thanksgiving next week, too, because I don't have to go to school. :)
I wanted to mention this movie that I went to see with my dad and sisters last night. It's a documentary that this guy made about how America is totally dependent on oil, and how it's running out. It was really interesting! If you live in the ABQ area, it's showing again tonight at the Century Rio theater. Here's the trailer. Go see it if you can!

Everyday's Thanksgiving, Part #26
I'm thankful for:
0501. three crazy sisters
0502. overwhelming grace
0503. forgiveness, though I am the one who could overtake Paul in 1 Timothy 1:15
0504. being able to study Japanese art; it's actually really cool, and tons better than that of India or China
0505. Southwest Pieta by Luis Jimenez. I have to go see this sculpture here in ABQ and write an analysis paper about it, but there is so much about it I won't be at a loss, which is awesome!
0506. being able to teach in Bible club on Wednesday! I haven't been there in almost seven months, so I'm really excited!
0507. going to pick up my paycheck tonight!
0508. it's snowing!
0509. gracious provision
0510. taking notes; it really helps cement things in my head, whether it's at church or school
0511. a new song I wrote in honor of Thanksgiving. Ironically, it's called "Thanksgiving".
0512. this video, which basically sums up what I was feeling today (I couldn't find the tape). Also, I just love how it says "Someday my prints will come." It's hilarious!
0513. Mondays where I don't have anything to do except get all ready for the coming week
0514. being able to sign up for next semester's classes this Friday!
0515. going to see a play this Friday night, and then watching my sister perform in a different play on the next Friday and Saturday!
0516. Isaiah 59:1
0517. the Music Inspired by the Story CD. It has just about all my favorite music artists, and I love the songs! Here's one of my favorites.
0518. The Bedford Handbook. So helpful for my English class!
0519. Crazy Love by Francis Chan
